Supporting Music in the Schools and the Community: The Magic of Music Gala
The San Diego Chamber Orchestra will celebrate its 25th season with what promises to be a fantastic Silver Jubilee gala, The Magic of Music , on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa , with Mistress of Ceremonies and TV personality Kimberly King and featuring The Heroes band and Auctioneer Bill Menish .
The Magic of Music gala activities will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner and dancing to the music of The Heroes and a live auction.

Wine Donation Drop-off Party (with music and wine)
Admission is a bottle of wine (valued at $50 or higher) that can be used as an auction item. PRP Wine International, Inc. is donating two wine-tasting events in private homes as auction items, and they will provide wine-tasting of their wines at this event.

Under the leadership of Jung-Ho Pak, artistic director and conductor , the Orchestra has created a sensation in the San Diego area with its vision of making classical music relevant in today's world through programming and extraordinary experiences, increasing ticket sales by 22% last season. The Orchestra has also dedicated itself to providing music education in the San Diego city schools and many county schools through multiple programs, including the ground-breaking Frances Hunter Music Memory Program , kicked off in the fall of 2008.
