Host Jung-Ho Pak Interviews Young Violinist Jay Oh
For the Love of Music: A Talk Show Series - The Inn At Rancho Santa Fe

In a continuation of the talk show series modeled after Bravo's Inside An Actors Studio , the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center presented For the Love of Music featuring host Jung-Ho Pak, artistic director and conductor of the Orchestra, and violinist Jay Oh, a former child prodigy, at The Inn At Rancho Santa Fe on Tuesday morning, March 10. The series is sponsored by The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and Morgan Stanley.

Maestro Pak's interview and questions from the audience elicited a remarkable story of Oh's life as a child prodigy, beginning with his life in Korea and his subsequent life as a professional musician based in this country. The audience responded enthusiastically when he played a composition of his own, based on a Korean soap opera, and portions of the Concerto as Maestro Pak explained the history about the composition and the composer. A subsequent animated conversation and demonstrations about various techniques of playing the violin clearly fascinated those in attendance.

The next event of the For the Love of Music series will be on Tuesday, May 12, at 10:00 a.m. at The Inn At Rancho Santa Fe, with former child prodigy cellist Denise Djokic. The event is free, and reservations can be made by calling 858-350-2090.
