Orchestra Nova Will Be Celebrating San Diego’s KPBS
Joined by legendary composer BJ Leiderman

Orchestra Nova San Diego, under the leadership of Jung-Ho Pak, will be Celebrating San Diego’s KPBS with a very special performance on April 1, 2 and 4 of beautiful music heard on public radio and television.

Award-winning and entertaining composer BJ Leiderman, whose compositions include the theme songs for many NPR programs, including Car Talk, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me and Morning Edition, will be a featured guest. BJ, renowned for his creativity, has also worked as a copywriter for Nickelodeon, The Chris Rock Show, Fox Kids, Cartoon Network and Spike TV.

Maestro Pak will take the concertgoers on a tour through PBS and NPR programming: News (Frontline by Daring, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer by Hoffer); Drama (Masterpiece Theater’s Rondeau by Mouret, Masterpiece Mystery by Roger); Comedy (Monty Python’s Flying Circus theme: Liberty Bell March by Sousa); Learning (National Geographic by Bernstein, Cosmos with Carl Sagan: Canon by Pachelbel); Children’s Hour (Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood by Rogers, Sesame Street by Raposo); Documentaries (The Civil War: Ashokan Farewell by Ungar); Arts (Antiques Roadshow by Phillips, Great Performances, Blue Danube by Strauss, Great Performances, Time to Say Goodbye by Sartori); Radio (Car Talk, Marketplace, Morning Edition, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!, Weekend Edition by Leiderman; Minnesota Public Radio’s theme Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 by Bach and KPBS’ These Days by Castellanos).

Tickets are selling fast – one venue is already nearly sold out – and, after the three highly successful Nova Classics concerts this season, it is anticipated that all three venues will sell out for this concert. Tickets are available online at orchestranova.org or by calling 858-350-0290.
