Public Radio and TV Theme Music Performed Live for the First Time
Special appearance and performance by composer BJ Leiderman
BJ Leiderman has been described as a bundle of energy, enthusiastic, hip, funny, wildly creative, free-thinking, eclectic. He’s a producer, a copywriter, a lyricist, a pianist and a voice talent, but he’s best known as the noted theme song composer of National Public Radio’s Car Talk, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell me, Morning Edition and American Public Media’s Marketplace. He has also scored numerous TV and radio commercials and corporate promotional videos for clients including Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, US Air, General Mills and General Electric.
BJ will join Orchestra Nova and artistic director Jung-Ho Pak for three once-in-a-lifetime concerts Celebrating San Diego’s KPBS on April 1, 2 and 4, performing theme songs from Public Radio and TV programming, many of them performed live for the first time.
The repertoire for this performance includes some of the best-known classical music from ages past in addition to favorites by contemporary composers such asLeiderman and Sesame Street’s Raposo.

True to form, Maestro Pak will have some fantastic surprises in store for the Nova guests that aren’t publicized prior to the concerts.
Celebrating San Diego’s KPBS will be performed in three San Diego venues:
St. Paul’s Cathedral, Downtown – Friday, April 1, 7:30 p.m.
Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall, Sorrento Valley – Saturday, April 2, 7:30 p.m.
Sherwood Auditorium, La Jolla – Monday, April 4, 7:30 p.m.
