CSI: Beethoven – Inside Ludwig’s Head
It’s Bio-tech Night for Orchestra Nova

Beautiful music that only Beethoven could compose and an exploration of the mysteries associated with his life and his music will mark Orchestra Nova’s next Classics concert on May 7, 8 and 10. Artistic director and conductor Jung-Ho Pak will take a rare look at the inner workings of Beethoven’s creative mind through his beautiful Leonore overtures as he tried to make each one more ideal through his obsessive search for perfection, ultimately ending with the beautiful Fidelio overture.

The concert concludes with Beethoven’s most joyous and frolicking symphony of all, Symphony No. 4.

True to his penchant for surprising twists, Maestro Pak will turn to forensic science for some answers. Criminalist Jennifer Shen from the San Diego County Forensic Chemistry unit will make a special appearance – and there may be more surprises!

In special recognition of contributions by San Diego’s highly acclaimed bio-tech industry, the orchestra is offering a 20% discount to anyone in the bio-tech industry and their guests – at all venues!

This concert will mark the end of the highly successful Orchestra Nova’s series of Classics concerts for the 2009-2010 season. With a new name, a new venue (the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall), creative programming and an emphasis upon creating a music “experience” that includes an emotional connection between the guests and the musicians, the orchestra has seen its ticket sales go up and a significant increase in its audience diversification of all generations.

The announcement of an exciting 2010-2011 season will be made later this month.
