Orchestra Nova Plays Haydn Seek
Featuring Talented Cellist Erin Breene

Special promotion for San Diego high-tech employees

Orchestra Nova San Diego continues its highly successful Classics Series of concerts this season under the leadership of Maestro Jung-Ho Pak with Haydn Seek, a performance of Haydn favorites. The November concerts will open with the beautiful, but rarely heard, Orfeo ed Euridice Overture, followed by Cello Concerto No. 1 performed by the orchestra’s own talented principal cellist, Erin Breene. The concert will close with Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 (Farewell Symphony). Always full of surprises for his guests, Maestro Pak will not disappoint with this concert as he ends the concert in a most surprising manner.

Guest artist Erin Breene is one of the most exciting young performers in classical music today. Her childhood in Wisconsin was filled with music – in fact, she performed her first recital before the age of three, playing a cello converted from a viola. Inspired by teachers at both Rice and Juilliard during her college years, she counts her experiences at Tanglewood Institute as some of her most memorable, playing under conductors like Segei Ozawa, Andre Previn, James Conlan and others. Her chair at Tanglewood was sponsored by singer/songwriter James Taylor. She is performing with Orchestra Nova (formerly known as the San Diego Chamber Orchestra) for her sixth season.

Along with video enhancement at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall, Orchestra Nova offers the most theatrical presentation of classical music in San Diego, as exemplified by this concert.

The orchestra is offering a special 20% discount to San Diego’s high-tech employees for this concert at any of the three venues as a way of honoring the contribution theyhave made and are making to the San Diego business community.

Student tickets at $10 are available all season at all venues for the Classics Series of concerts.
