Masterpiece Messiah: Music and Art Come Together. The San Diego Chamber Orchestra's famous annual 18th century re-creation of Handel's Messiah gets a whole new look this season with the addition of great works of art on video accompanying this most beloved masterpiece of music. The Orchestra, under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak, will be joined by the Bach Collegium San Diego chorus (Ruben Valenzuela, Music Director) and four extraordinarily talented guest soloists to perform Handel’s Messiah in this new dramatic presentation. This wonderful experience will be enhanced even more with the addition of a post-concert in-depth discussion about the artwork selected for the performance, led by Maestro Pak and an art expert. Most performances were sold out last year and tickets are going fast this year.

In Demand and On the Go: Our Own Maestro Pak
He surely can’t get more than six hours of sleep each night, with his busy, busy schedule. Whether he’s fueling his passion for music education in the schools by working with music classes throughout the county, working on all of the details and surprises that make up the exciting experiences of San Diego Chamber Orchestra concerts or reaching out to the community to talk about his vision and business model for the Orchestra, he seems to be perpetually on the go. The Asian Business Association recently honored him at their annual fundraiser event on November 13 as the keynote speaker for the evening where he discussed the importance of managing arts organizations as businesses. On December 2, he will be the keynote speaker and Legacy Award Recipient for his innovation and excellence at the Salute to Excellence luncheon, hosted by Nonprofit Management Solutions.
