Karla Contreras
Violin
Karla began playing with our Orchestra with the viola in 2005. However, Karla began her musical career as a violinist at the age of six when her mother "forced" her to play violin and piano." I remember hating the violin at first," Karla explains. "At the age of nine, I joined my first orchestra and found it quite enjoyable. At the age of 11, I moved up to 'advanced' orchestra. It was under the inspiration of this conductor that I decided I loved music so much that I wanted to grow up to be a professional musician."

Karla now performs in our violin section, but she is an individual equally at home on the two instruments.
