The SDCO/CMEA Orchestra Festival
Orchestra Nova’s Tune-up Festival, in collaboration with the California Music Educators Association and led by Jung-Ho Pak and the orchestra’s professional musicians is a “one-of-a-kind” festival in the country today.

During a two-day period in March every year, up to 20 high school orchestras perform, followed by constructive insight from Maestro Pak for both the students and their conductor. Following that session, the student musicians move into smaller groups for one-on-one sessions with the Orchestra Nova musicians.

In addition to the CMEA collaborative Tune Up Fesitval, Jung-Ho Pak guest conducts the annual Poway Orchestra Festival. Six student orchestras from Poway and La Jolla perform with Maestro Pak and receive his constructive advice.

“You have given me a great supply of more in-depth ideas to try with my students. I thank you so much for your time and dedication to music education!“ – Joan Diener, strings director at La Jolla country Day School
